Help support the Whales of Guerrero project to protect whales & dolphins.
Many species of endangered whales and dolphins live and breed in the Mexican state of Guerrero, and all of them are in danger because this region remains unmonitored and unprotected. Just like in most of the oceans of the world, whales and dolphins continue to face many threats every day - ship strikes, boat noise, stranding, and entanglement in fishing nets. Additionally, collapsing fisheries and polluted oceans are causing starvation and illness.
GreaterGood.org works with Whales of Guerrero, a program of the Oceanic Society, to actively work to protect the whales and dolphins of this region. The program monitors and studies the habits of these precious mammals, utilizing drones with their boat research to capture arial views. They also engage and train the local community on how to live more harmoniously with the ocean and its life, leading to the ultimate goal of inspiring them to love and protect the ocean. Through their programs, they teach fishermen safe & responsible boating practices, save stranded whales & dolphins, run awareness campaigns about healthy ocean habits, conduct plastic & garbage clean ups, and connect 2,000+ kids directly with whales & dolphins, fostering a new generation of ocean champions.
You can help. Just $10 funds a half hour of whale/dolphin study and protection and creates a sustainable community in Guerrero!
