Help chefs feed Mozambique in response to Cyclone Idai

Cyclone Idai hit the southern coast of Africa in mid-March, completely devastating the region. More than 400,000 people were displaced and 1.85 million people affected. The cyclone also destroyed more than 1 million acres of crops. Thousands of people are currently living in camps, and there has been a cholera outbreak.

GreaterGood.org is partnering with World Central Kitchen to provide hot, nutritious meals to those living in camps and hospitals. Many people lost everything in the cyclone, so World Central Kitchen is on the ground in Beira, Mozambique working to provide food and the most basic necessities.

World Central Kitchen operates emergency relief efforts after natural disasters and during times of crisis all over the world. In emergency relief efforts, WCK works with local volunteers to quickly establish and activate kitchens that start serving hot, nutritious meals to those directly impacted by the crisis. WCK has created #ChefsForMozambique to feed those directly impacted by Cyclone Idai, and to help support and empower the local community to become self-sufficient again and resilient in the face of another disaster.

You can help. Just $1 provides a hot meal for a survivor affected by Cyclone Idai. Help feed those in need after disaster hits.

World Central Kitchen is a non-profit organization of chefs creating smart solutions to hunger and poverty in the areas of disaster relief, health, jobs and workforce development, and food security. Since its founding in 2010, World Central Kitchen has served close to 7 million meals to victims of natural disasters around the globe and was named one of Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies in Food in 2018.
